Grow Your Own Chilli Pepper Plants

Top Tips - Caring for your chilli plants

We hope that the advice offered on this page is helpful and you have success in growing your own chilli plants. There are a fantastic array of chilli plants to choose from and they are easy to grow if you follow a few basic steps.

Chillies aren't difficult to grow and can be started off indoors or in a greenhouse. They can then be moved outside in a warm, sunny spot that is out of any wind. Here we have suggested some basic steps to care for your chillies, including overwintering, although this is not guaranteed.

Feed your chilli plants

A frequently asked question is 'Do I need to feed my plants?'

Feeding makes a huge difference to the health and vigour of your plants and to yield. The best feed to use is a high potassium liquid feed such as Chilli and Pepper Focus and you should start using this as soon as the first flowers are visible. This should be used at least once a week.
