A versatile annual herb grown mainly for its seeds that are used whole or ground. The leaves can also be added to salad and impart a mild tangy flavour.

Cumin Seeds
Sow in late spring in shallow drill, 40cm (16") apart, lightly cover with soil or compost. Plants need three to four hot summer months for good fruit formation. The tiny, green to brown fruit contain the aromatic cumin seed.
