Capsicum annuum species. Very popular Mexican chilli that is compact and highly productive over a long season. They have a better flavour and a bit more pungency than the majority of types generally available. They can be eaten green or red. In Mexico these can be hot smoked to make chipotles.

Pod colour: Fruits ripen from a dark green to bright red.

Pod size: Conical shape, 2 to 3cm wide and 8 to 10cm long

Flavour: Mild.

Uses: Stuffed, salsa or chargrilled.
